His Hands has been serving the uninsured and underinsured in the Cedar Rapids area for 25 years. We are so excited when we hear that one of our patients has obtained insurance. Sometimes that is through the marketplace or Medicaid, other times it is because they have a new job that offers them coverage. When a patient calls to schedule an appointment at the clinic, one of the questions we always as is if they have insurance. Once we find out they have coverage, our clinic can assist them in establishing care with a Primary Care Provider.
We have many wonderful providers at our clinic, but two doctors are retired and serve two days a week during our daytime medical clinics. Dr. Janda and Dr. Glanzer provide such quality care for our patients! When it comes time to establish care with a PCP, we often hear, “but where do they practice so I can just go to their office?” While patients understand that it is in their best interest to establish care with a PCP, many are a little reluctant to leave the providers that serve here. When that happens, it is such an encouragement to hear that patients feel comfortable and connected with the medical volunteers and are so satisfied with their care here at the clinic. His Hands Free Clinic is incredibly blessed to have such quality doctors who donate their time on a regular basis. We are so thankful for our fantastic volunteers who help us to serve our patients well!
