Recently a patient had a breakthrough at the clinic. While discussing her situation, she shared of a lifetime of trauma. In figuring out the next steps she was going to take regarding her present situation, she questioned if she was deserving of a life without abuse. Part of her knew the way others had treated her was wrong, but another part believed she was truly deserving of her treatment. However, we know differently.
While we were able to meet her physical needs at the clinic, we also were able to provide hope, resources, and prayers which gave her much needed support at a vulnerable and critical time. Though she will continue to wrestle with feelings of unworthiness, my hope and prayer is that one day she will see herself as God sees her, a child of His worthy of love and respect.
