Roger Junge joined His Hands volunteer team in January 2018. He is an Errand Runner and helps with Maintenance, Building and Custodial services. He first heard of His Hands through Praise on the River and came to the clinic with their church, Hillside Wesleyan, during their yearly “Church has Left the Building” event, where a group came during a Sunday to serve.
Roger, retired after 41 years with Benton County Road services, is the father of 3, step-father of another 2, grandfather of 12 and husband of our own Volunteer and Spiritual Care Coordinator Kim. When asked what he enjoys the most about volunteering at His Hands, he said he enjoyed having a purpose; something to do that does good in our community.
His favorite scripture is Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor; if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? Thought one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Roger summarized this passage well when he said: “We were meant to do life together.”
We have been blessed that Roger has chosen to do ministry together with us here at His Hands.
