We hope you’ll consider the Patient Advocate role at His Hands Free Clinic where we treat patients with care, hear their concerns, and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.
Primary Duties
- Refer patients to primary care physicians (PCP) and specialists; help with financial assistance to facilitate referrals
- Educate patients on insurance options as well as other community resources; assist with enrollment or refer to external enrollment assistance programs
- Point person for crisis intervention, including de-escalation, as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Advocate on behalf of patients to reduce medical bills
- Act as a liaison between His Hands and other community agencies
- Become trained as a Certified Application Counselor
- Create monthly message boards for patient education
- Other duties as assigned (e.g., patient surveys, maintain PCP list, staff trainings)
- Use volunteers and interns for projects as prudent
- Maintain electronic records, notes, and reports

Qualifications
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith and Statement of Values
- Be an active member of a local church
- Possess excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills
- Be self-motivated, dependable, and responsible
- Be respectful of the God-given dignity of all persons
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field [preferred]
- Experience working with low income, homeless, or near homeless individuals and Medicaid managed care [preferred]
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and reach overhead
- Ability to maneuver throughout the facility
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 25 pounds

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00 to 4:00, Tuesday 9:00 to 7:00, and Friday 9:00 to 12:00
