The Executive Director is responsible for leading the operations of His Hands Free Clinic (HHFC), a faith-based, non-profit organization, and representing the Clinic in the community, and furthering the mission of His Hands Free Clinic (HHFC) as set forth by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is a committed Christian who models Christian values through their work and is an active and participating member of a local church. The Executive Director upholds the organization’s Statement of Faith and Statement of Values in the workplace and the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Executive Director serves as a non-voting member of the HHFC Board of Directors and is a liaison between the Board and the Clinic operation and its staff. The Executive Director provides the Board with all information necessary to ensure sound governance of the Clinic. All Board activities are supported by the Executive Director.
Organizational Leadership and Vision
- Create and communicate an overall vision for HHFC in partnership with the Board. Ensure planning and execution of all Clinic activities to support its mission.
- Actively plan and execute regular Board meetings and facilitate other Board activities in conjunction with the President of the Board.
- Provide timely and accurate communication with the Board to facilitate informed decisions and maintain effective oversight.
- Develop strategic, operating, marketing, financial plans, and an annual budget for Board approval, and implement and monitor those plans.
- Assist the Board in recruiting new Board members.
- Implement, evaluate and adapt programs and services to fulfill the mission and vision of HHFMC, and to meet community needs.
- Create community support to sustain volunteer efforts and charitable giving.
- Develop and maintain liaison with other community non-profit organizations, churches and other religious organizations.
- Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures sustaining day-to-day operations of HHFC.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place to maintain accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial records and reporting.
- Oversee all operations of HHFC, including medical/dental functions, facility management, human resources, volunteer services, marketing, and development/fundraising.
Team member support
- Directly supervise, evaluate and support department/team leaders.
- Recruit, hire, train and manage team members (staff and volunteers) in collaboration with department leaders.
- Lead, coach, develop and retain high-performing team members.
- Monitor team member performance and provide regular feedback and formal evaluations.
- Plan and implement team building activities to support a positive work environment.
- Set a standard of excellence in Clinic operations by modeling the values and vision of HHFC for all staff.
Fundraising/Development Efforts
- Provide oversight and guidance to the Development section and assist with fundraising activities.
- Oversee and assist with grant writing efforts and reports and managing grant awards.
- Assist Development activities by maintaining strong relationships with key constituencies, including grantors, donors, community partners and the local medical community.
External Communication
- Oversee, monitor and assist with all external media communications, including website, social media and news outlets.
- Represent HHFC publicly to include community events, media opportunities, and interactions with community and governmental organizations.
Additional Responsibilities/Attributes
- Provide spiritual discipleship, encouragement and example for staff members and volunteers.
- Exhibit skill in interpersonal communication, public speaking, writing and electronic media communications.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, management, nursing, public health, social services or related field. A combination of education and related work experience is acceptable. A master’s level is encouraged.
- Minimum three years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare setting.
- Experience in budgeting, strategic planning, program development, process improvement, and personnel management/supervision.
- Professional demeanor to facilitate interaction with medical providers, donors, governmental agencies and other health care administrators.
- Passion to lead by example with integrity, strength and compassion.
- Experience and desire to develop and strengthen philanthropic connections in the community.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to recruit and work with a team of paid staff and volunteers.
- Familiarity with fundraising, grant writing, and event planning.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead.
- Ability to maneuver throughout the facility.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time.
- Ability to be in the facility 6-8 hours per day.
